Tiptree tip their diamond marmalade falvoured hats to Queenie for her Jubilee

To mark 60 years of the Queens reign, one of Marmaland's favourite manufacturers Wilkin & Son's have produced a limited volume of Tiptree Jubilee Marmalade.

In preparation of this Summers landmark celebrations 2,012 of the 2lb jars (that's twice the size of a standard pot what you might buy from the supermarket) were made five years ago and laid down  in the coolest, darkest part of the warehouses at Tiptree.

All funds from the sales of this very special marmalade will be ploughed (farming gag) back into local Essex community projects.

The manufacturers have kicked the charitable gathering of funds off by putting six jars up for auction in a specially made wooden sign written casket on the eBay. Starting at just £1 the auction is currently at £185 with a day and five hours to run.

If you fancy a bid go here Tiptree eBay auction

If that is a little too rich for your blood you can have a go at buying one of the other 2,006 jars - but you will need to go to the Tiptree tea and cake rooms which are situated in a converted tractor shed and well worth a visit anyway.

Final chance you can buy on-line from RedMoped Tiptrees delivery service

They have 100 of the jars on offer. Well they did have I just bought three (one for the table, one for the cupboard and one for the Museum).

Return of the Marm

The last time I set virtual pen to paper (paper also virtual) it was October 2009 when big Al had touched my heart with his marmalade sausage.

Why so long? (i hear both of you cry).

Well I cant say too much about exactly why I ended up there, but I have to be honest and tell you that I have spent some time at her majesty's pleasure. (think Iceland, eBay and interfering with furry animals and you will be heading in the right direction).

By that I mean locked up in prison (not pleasuring the Queen) and sadly I was there for the lion's share of two years without any access to the Internet.

Anyway I was released slightly early for deciding to finger some rioters, and after my tearful reunion with Museum Curator Mr Jones and my good friend Marusan Mu Chicki Chicki I return to my blog.

Apologies for the brief downtime of http://www.marmaland.com/ but all is back up and running now.

My time inside has given me plenty to think about, I am reformed and I am well and truly BACK!

Big Al touches judges hearts with his marmalade sausage.

Allan Bennett proudly raises the Champion of Champions cup for the second time when he walked away with Meat Trades Journals top sausage accolade this week.

Allan who runs a family butchers in Wolverhampton 'delighted' judges with his marmalade and pork sausage.

"I said to my son Steven the day before, this marmalade sausage will win. I got the idea a number of years ago, while judging another competition. At first I thought, pork and marmalade? That won't work. But then I thought they're both breakfast favourites, so why not?"

If you want to experience what it s like to be 'delighted by Allan's sausage' visit his shop in Codsall and ask him very nicely.

Robertsons gollywog offered in white.

There are plenty of these reproduction Robertson's golly's out there, but this is the first time I have ever seen a white one. In the true spirit of political correctness I hope that Ebayer currently selling these at £50 a pop will be offering females, gingers and handicapped gollys in the near future.
